VI. BIRTH AND COLLECTION OF UMBILICAL CORD BLOOD

Make sure you take the collection kit you received from EUROMEDICS CRYO/BANK with you to the maternity ward. When you arrive at the maternity hospital, on the day of your birth, hand over the kit to the medical staff who will assist you at the birth.

The collection of blood from the umbilical cord can be done at any public or private maternity hospital. It is not important if the birth was normal or by caesarean section. The obstetrician or a midwife does the sampling himself. The procedure takes only 3-5 minutes and is performed in absolute safety conditions for the newborn and the mother and is completely painless.

After the completion of the blood sampling from the umbilical cord, as well as the collection of the mother’s blood for additional tests, the kit will be kept at room temperature until it is picked up by a specialized courier of the company.
